IT outsourcing from Singapore, Hong Kong will escalate: study
Mumbai, June 12 (UNI) It is time for the skill-starved Indian IT companies to outsource IT-skills from countries like Singapore and Hong Kong ample signs of which has started echoing in IT arenas, says a research by Gartner.
Rapid economic growth being witnessed in country has brought the talent-shortage as a concern with the local chief information officers (CIOs) making it a difficult task to manage the issue of skill-shortage, the study says.
''Global sourcing model will become business-as-usual for Indian organisations in the years ahead. Many Indian IT firms with global opeartions are now outsourcing a part of their administrative work locally, which vividly fingers out to the increasing trend of IT-Skill outsourcing,'' said Arup Roy, Senior Research Analyst of Gartner.
The survey, conducted among 1,400 CIOs worldwide, showed a 16.19 per cent growth in the IT budget of India as against an average 3.16 per cent in the rest part of the world.
The survey also directed Indian IT companies to absorb capabilities of Tier-2 and Tier-3 level service providers in IT market and introducing innovative programmes to retain the talents.
