Ferrous metals rise, nickel eases

Mumbai, Jun 12 (UNI) Select ferrous metals rose on better buying support and non-ferrous metals remained steady on moderate demand even as Nickel eased on increased offers by stockists in line with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy, copper utensils and aluminium utensils were up by Rs 300, Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on increase of fresh demand.

Nickel cathode eased by Rs 50 per kg on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 34,800, Copper utensils - Rs 31,200, Brass utensils - Rs 25,500, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,900 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,300, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,200, Lead ingots - Rs 10,400, Tin slab - Rs 705 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,950 (per kg).
