EPIC Energy acquires 100 pc stake in SRS Engg

New Delhi, June 12: Oil and gas company Epic Energy Ltd today said it has acquired a 100 per cent stake in SRS Engineers (SRS), a power electronics and energy conservation firm operating from Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu.

With the acquisition, the current projects bagged by SRS in the first quarter of 2007-08 will now be executed by the company which translates into an immediate business of Rs 1.75 crore.

The acquisition makes a lot of synergistic sense for Epic since street light controllers and power saving switches form an integral part of the products presently being offered by it.

This is third acquisition made by the company in the last two quarters after acquiring all energy devices manufacturer in Por, Gujarat and Bangaluru-based Hydragen Infrastructures, a statement said.

Mr P Sampathkumar will take over as Head - Research and Development of Epic and Mr R Senthilkumar will head the South India operations.

SRS Engineers is a leading manufacturer of street light controllers and other voltage-control devices and power saving switches.

It has implemented projects in Coimbatore, Cudalore, Erode, Karur, Ramanathapuram, Nagapattinam, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Thiruvallur, Virudhunagar and Theni districts of Tamil Nadu.
