Disciplinary action follows jail clash in MP

Indore, June 12 (UNI) A jailer is among three prison officials suspended in connection with Sunday's clash -- between two groups of inmates -- that was caused by festering enmity and injured six inmates at the Central Jail here, and a departmental inquiry ordered against another jailer.

''Jailer R K Sharma, Chief Guard Hariram Patel and Guard Dinesh Bhatt were suspended. The inquiry is against Jailer Amar Singh Maurya. I had sent a report, to Headquarters, regarding the dispute,'' said Prison Superintendent Lalji Mishra.

More than one round was fired at an inmate yesterday.
