CPI (ML) demand on Plus One admission
Puducherry, June 12 (UNI) Welcoming the Madras High Court order that admissions to "plus one" class in the same school be treated as a continued process, the Puducherry unit of the CPI (ML) today demanded that the order be implemented in the Union Territory also.
In a statement here party secretary S. Balasubramanian said the present system of fresh admission to "plus one" classes in the same school was ony to collect huge amounts as donations from the students.
He demanded that the Puducherry administration issue orders in this regard and insist on the private schools here to implement the order from this accademic year itself.
Taking strong exception to the reluctancy on the part of the administration to put an end to the strike by the federation of the municipality and commune panchayat employees associations to press their demands, Mr Balasubramanian said the failure on the part of the government to devolve powers to the elected local body representatives and to allocate adequate funds for the local bodies led to the situation.
