Chamba block allocated Rs three crore for developmental activities

Chamba, Jun 12 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Animal Husbandry Minister Harsh Mahajan said Chamba development block has been allocated a sum of Rs three crore for various developmental activities.

Besides, three crore to the whole block, Kohlari panchayat of the district has been allocated additional funds for the implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS), he said at Kohlari yesterday after laying the foundation stone of Kohlari bridge, to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 60 lakh.

Mr Mahajan also inaugurated another block of the Kohlari school in the district.

Addressing a gathering on the occasion, he also announced the upgradation of Kohlari Government High School to Senior Secondary School, saying it would benefit students from far-flung villages of Khajjiar and Kohlari panchayats of the area.

Mr Mahajan said Kohlari panchayat has already spent a sum of Rs 28 lakh under NREGS and called upon the rural people to come forward to take its advantage.
