BJP takes out padayatra

Tirupati, June 12 (UNI) Hailing the recent government notification banning other religion propagation and declaring Tirumala a 'Divyashetram,' BJP activists today took out a ''padayatra'' from Srikalahasti to the hill temple covering more than 60 kms.

At least 50 activists led by District BJP Secretary Manohar Reddy and BJYM District Vice-President Mohan Babu Naidu flagged of the padayatra at Srikalahasti Temple and reached Tirumala Temple this afternoon.

Later, addressing the press, Mr Manohar Reddy claimed victory for the BJP which fought and demanded the government to ban propagation of other religions at Tirumala and declare seven sacred hills as Tirumala Divyashetram.
