Army foiled militant plan to attack Chief Minister in North Kashmir

Srinagar, June 12 (UNI) Army tonight claimed to have foiled a militant plan to attack Jammu and Kashmir Chief Miniter Ghulam Nabi Azad during his vistis to Handwara in North kashmir.

A defense ministry spokesman said troops arrested a youth who was moving under suspicious circumstances along with hand grenade at Handwara in the frontier district of Kupwara today.

on being questioned the youth said that he was directed by militants to hurled the grenade on the Chief Minister during his visit to the town later in the afternoon.

After further questioning, his two other accomplices Sajjad and Akhtar were also apprehended. All the three youth belong to Dorushpura near Handwara.
