Army doctor missing, search on
Guwahati, June 12 (UNI) Tension prevailed in Dibrugarh district of upper Asom today after an Army doctor was reported missing from Dinjan camp of the 22nd Mountain Division since yesterday.
Dibrugarh SP VK Ramisetti told UNI Major Anurag Sarma was missing from the Dinjan camp since last night, but his car was found at Okhlandghat in Rohmoria this evening.
Some suicide notes were also recovered from the car.
Though prime facie it appeared to be case of suicide, the Army has not ruled out involvement of militant outfits in the abduction.
''It appears that it is a case of suicide, but nothing can be said till the body is found,'' the SP said.
A massive operation has been launched by the security forces to trace Doctor Sarma.
Meanwhile, the Army has arrested to ULFA linkmen at Duliajan in Dibrugarh today.
The duo, Dileshwar Moran and Madhai Dohotia, both residents of Makum in Tinsukia demanded money from Oil India Limited employees on behalf of the ULFA.
