Another farmer commits suicide

Hubli, June 12 (UNI) A 45-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide by jumping before train near Navalur village, near here, today.

Police said Shivappa Yallappa Ittigatti, who had raised loan from banks and private people, was worried about marrying off his third daughter. As he was unable to repay the loan and facing financial problems, Shivappa might have taken the extreme step, police suspect.

He left home this morning saying that he would go to his field, but committed suicide by jumping before a running train.

Tahsildar Vinayak Joshi visited the spot and held the inquest.
