52 held under 'Operation Varun'

Basti, June 12 (UNI) At least 52 criminals have been arrested and sent to jail under the two-day police operation here.

The criminals have been nabbed under the 'Operation Varun', which was launched yesterday.

Among those arrested 19 figured in the wanted list and 30 carried non-bailable warrants against them, Superintendent of police Mohan Swaroop today said.

Three others had been nabbed for keeping illegal weapons, two country made pistols and three live cartridges were also recovered from their possession, he added.
