Spl policing system for Gurgaon

Chandigarh , Jun 11 (UNI) The Haryana Government has established a special policing system on the lines of Commissionerate of police for the area falling within the limits and the jurisdiction of Gurgaon revenue district.

An official spokesman today said a decision to this effect had been taken in view of the fast development, industrial growth, rapid urbanisation and increase in population in Gurgaon district.

He said that it had become necessary to establish a police set up which would be able to cope up with the problems of law and order, equipped to prevent and detect crime and could instill confidence and a sense of security among the general public.

He said an Inspector General of Police, known as Commissioner of Police, would be the Head of the police force in the Commissionerate of Gurgaon. There would be a joint Commissioner of Police in the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police to assist the Commissioner of Police in discharging of his duties and responsibilities.

The Gurgaon revenue district would be divided into three police districts namely Police district (East), Police district (West) and Police district (South), he added.
