Rao new Permanent Representative to UN

New Delhi, June 11 (UNI) Mr Hamid Ali Rao, Joint Secretary, has been appointed Ambassador and Permanent Representative of India to the UN Conference on Disarmament, Geneva.

Mr Rao, who is expected to take up his assignment shortly, replaces Mr Jayant Prasad, an External Affairs Ministry statement said here today.
