New Delhi, June 11 (UNI) The national capital witnessed a dip in mercury today, as the barometer read 41.1 degress Celsius at the maximum.

There was a decrease of three degrees in temperature as compared with yesterday's maximum, which was recorded at 44 degrees.

The minimum also registered at 31.5 degrees against yesterday's 34 degrees.

But a huge leap in maximum humidity neutralised the relief as it soared to to 73 per cent against yesterday's 50 per cent.

Even the minimum humidity stood at 41 per cent according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The Met department predicted mainly clear sky except for duststorm in some areas. A thunderstorm may also rise and bring drizzle if not rain, weathermen added.

The following days may witness the temperature stay around 40 degrees, they said.
