Guj: Financier shot at by unidentified person

Rajkot, June 11: A 32-year-old financier was allegedly shot at by an unidentified assailant at Kalawad road area, near Rani Tower, here.

The victim, Vanrajsinh Hematsinh Gohel, suffered bullet wounds in the incident, which occurred yesterday. He has been admitted to a private hospital here, police said today.

In a police complaint, Mr Gohel stated that an unidentified attacker came in a black car and started firing at him when he was on his way home on a scooter at around 1400 hrs. The assailant fired three rounds at him. After committing the crime, the attacker fled from the scene.

The conditon of the financier is stable, police said, adding that the motive behind the attack is not known.

An offence has been registered against the unidentified assailant and the police have launched a manhunt, they added.
