BJP activists stage protest against Sonia's statement

Hubli, Jun 11 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists today took out a rally here to protest against Congress President Sonia Gandhi's statement that her party would support diversion of Mahadayi waters to Malaprabha, during her electioneering in Goa recently.

The activists also staged a road blockade and burnt an effigy of Ms Gandhi.

Though the police arrested 40 activists, they were released in the evening.
