Babbar Khalsa terrorist gets 3-year jail
Kurukshetra, Jun 11 (UNI) Gurdip Singh Rana, a terrorist belonging to the Babbar Khalsa Internationa,l was sentenced to three years' imprisonment by a local court here today.
Judicial Magistrate Naresh Kumar awarded the sentence under various sections of the Arms Act and also also imposed a fine fined him Rs 500 along with imprisonment.
Rana's three accomplices--Pritam Singh, Amritpal Singh and Kuldip Singh--were however acquitted by the court for lack of evidence.
Rana was nabbed from a hideout at Sujra village in the district on October 17, 2005. Police also arrested his three accomplices who had provided him shelter.
Rana, who was wanted by the Punjab police in various terrorist activities, had made a hideout in a small village of Haryana to avoid arrest.
