Sugar prices up on improved demand
Navi Mumbai, Jun 9 (UNI) Sugar prices went up on improved demand, traders at the Vashi Sugar Merchant's Association said today.
Sugar in small grade moved up by Rs nine per quintal on reduced stock supply while medium grade fell by Rs five per quintal on thin buying support.
Sugar ex-mill small and medium grades rose by Rs five and Rs two per quintal respectively on increase of fresh demand.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,310/1,336, Medium grade: Rs 1,335/1,400, Ex-mill small grade: Rs 1,290/1,300, Medium grade: Rs 1,320/1,345.
