Nitish reiterates for introducing Common School System

Patna, June 9 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today reiterated that Common School System(CSS) would be introduced in the state to ensure uniform education for children of all sections of the society irrespective of their social and economic conditions.

Addressing a seminar organised by East and West educational society here, Mr Kumar said that commission on CSS had submitted its report to the government yesterday and education commissioner had been directed to study it and prepare a proposal for proper implementation of the recommendations of the commission.

''Implementation of some of the recommendations of the commision requires huge investment of funds and the state government would try to mobilise the resources from all possible means to make the dream of uniform education, a reality, '' he said adding all sections of the society should support the state government in achieving this goal.

'' Disparity in society begins at the level of elementary education as children of affluent sections of the society get education in schools equipped with all modern facilities while students of under privileged sections have no option but to study in schools devoid of even basic facilities,'' Mr Kumar said and assured that this disparity would be removed after introduction of CSS in the state.
