Naxal surrenders

Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, June 9 (UNI) A Devri Dalam naxal, who was wanted in connection with several crimes, has surrendered in this district, police said today.

Rajnandgaon-resident Shankar Gaud, who had joined naxals due to intense pressure by them, surrendered at Chhuria police station yesterday.

Shankar, who received arms training in Maharashtra, told police that he decided to surrender, as he was fed up with the working style of his commander and senior naxal leaders of Andhra Pradesh.

The ultra confessed to committing several crimes including murder, triggering blast on police route, attacking police, burning 'tendupatta' logs and loot.
