Minor blast at Visakhapatnam Steel Plant; 5 hurt

Visakhapatnam, June 9: Five persons were injured following a minorblast in the steel melting shop of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plantyesterday.

According to official sources, while removing refractory bricks,hot slag from a ladle fell on the floor, resulting in a blast.

Two employees of the plant and three contract workers of a privatecompany, who suffered minor injuries, were taken to a hospital.
