IED triggered to target security forces in JK

Baramulla, June 9: Militants today made an abortive bid to targeta security force convoy when they triggered a powerful ImprovisedExplosive Device (IED) on the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road this afternoon.

Official sources said the militants detonated a powerful IED atNihalpora, Pattan when a security force convoy was passing through thearea at 1245 hrs.

However, the blast took place a few seconds after the last vehiclepassed through the area. There was no report of any loss of life ordamage to property in the blast, the sources added.

Traffic on the highway was suspended for about sometime.

Security forces conducted a search operation in the nearby localities.
