AU student wounded in firing

Lucknow, June 9 (UNI) A student sustained severe bullet wounds today in a firing between two students' group in Ganga Nath Jha Hostel of Allahabad University.

Santosh Yadav and aides opened fire at Ashish Kumar Singh, following a heated exchange of words between them.

The injured was admitted to the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in a serious condition.

According to police, both the students were room mates and residing illegally in the hostel.

Incensed over the incident, the mob torched Santosh's motorcycle.

They could only be pacified after senior officials reached the spot.

Investigations are on.
