Rupee opens weaker at 40.84/86 per dollar
Mumbai, June 8: Rupee continued to be weaker today as it opened at 40.84/86 per U S dollar as compared to the previous close of 40.70/71.
The fall in Sensex margins, which has been largely reflecting in the Forex market, is being seen as the reason for Rupee's downward swing by traders.
The domestic unit, which touched a intra-day low of 40.98 is currently trading at 40.96.
The fear of Central Bank intervention further embarassed the investors. The Central Bank is believed to have been buying dollars to contain Rupee in preferred margins.
