Police begins major operations in Manipur
Imphal, June 8 (UNI) The Manipur police has launched operations in different parts of the state to nab militants.
Police said every day an undisclosed area was surrounded and individuals questioned so that the militants could be nabbed.
Police started the operations after cases of arson and militancy increased. Police said a bus coming from Asom was stopped by some miscreants and burnt at Imphal East a few days back.
Police further said a suspected ultra was shot dead by troops at Bishenpur district yesterday.
Police today identified the youth as Thokchom Naothoi. A pistol, one magazine and live rounds of ammunition had also been recovered from him.
