NABARD allocates 81 cr for Tripura under RIDF

Agartala, June 8: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development(NABARD) has allocated Rs 81 crore to Tripura under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund XIII(RIDF).

NABARD officials here today said to accelerate the credit flow for development of rural infrastructure the Centre has approved Rs 12,000 crore for 2007-08 under RIDF, which is Rs 2,000 crore more than the previous year.

The fund has been allocated considering the geographical area of the state, rural population, infrastructure development indices, state's performance in obtaining sanctions and actual utilisation of funds under earlier RIDF, officials said.

Tripura had obtained sanction of Rs 161 crore as against normative allocation of Rs 66 crore in the last fiscal due to timely submission of detail project. The state has acquired second position for performance in RIDF XII among NE states and 19th rank at the national level.
