IIHT, BIT Joint venture in IT education

Bangalore, June 8 (UNI) Leading Indian IT skills educator, Indian Institute of Hardware Technology (IIHT) will start courses in Bahrain for local and expats under a tie up with the Bahrain Institute of Technology (BIT) this september.

Talking to newspersons here today after exchanging an agreement with BIT, IIHT CEO Keshava Raju said it planned to spend 10 million dollar for infrastructure dvelopment over the next three years and BIT was expected to invest six million dollars in the venture.

IIHT also planned to set up its regional hub in Bahrain for serving the West Asian countries, he said and added that the agreement would help BIT to set up a state of the art training centre in Bahrain to explore various business opportunities.

Mr Raju said the IIHT had already ventured into China in a big way with as many as ten training centres, including two joint venture centres already functioning, and another 90 to be added in due course.

He said potential for Infrastructure Management Services (IMS) in the Gulf region was enormous as these countries needed trained professionals. IIHT would offer its three year BSc course besides a one year Post Graduate Diploma Course.

BIT CEO Adel A Al Safar speaking on the occasion said BIT was delighted to forge partnership with IIHT and BIT would be an exclusive franchise in the Kingdom of Bahrain to provide high level education in IT.

Mr Raju said the Global IMS Market was worth 200 billion dollar and training alone was expected to secure a business of 25 billion dollas.

IIHT had signed agreements with institutions in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa to make inroads in the African continent, he said.
