Heavy rain likely at isolated places

Bangalore, June 8 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was weak over Coastal Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at many places over North Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Chief rainfall amounts (cm): Jeewargi, Yadgir, Molkalmuru 5 each; Shahapur, Ponnampet, Davanagere, Hosahalli 4 each; Guledgudd, Raichur, Muddebihal, Deodurg, Chitradurga 3 each; Ranebennur, Kushtagi, Jamakhandi, Hungund, Biligi, Nagathan, B.Bagewadi, Sindagi, Afzalpur, Kakkeri, Gulbarga, Manvi, Lingasugur, Anavatti, Kammardi, Harihara, Jagalur 2 each.

Maximum temperatures markedly fell at most places over North Interior Karnataka and appreciably fell at most places over South Interior Karnataka. They were markedly above normal at most places over North Interior Karnataka and markedly below normal at a few places over South Interior Karnataka.

Chamarajnagara recorded highest maximum temperature of 30 degree celsius over the State.

Forecast valid until Sunday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over the State.

Farmers Weather Bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over the State during next 24 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy. A spell of rain/thundershower likely towards evening/night. Maximum temperature would be around 29 degree celsius.
