Delhi sizzles at 43.5 degrees Celsius

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) Delhiites reeled under yet another day of sweltering heat as the mercury today soared further to 43.5 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal, in the national capital.

The minimum also rose by a degree to 33.5 degrees Celsius, six degrees above normal, from yesterday's 32.8 degrees Celsius.

Delhiites are likely not to get any respite from the scorching heat as hot and dry conditions are expected to continue during the next three days.

Yesterday the maximum was recorded at 42.5 degrees Celsius.

The met department has predicted the day temperatures to rise increase further and touch 43 to 45 degrees Celsius over the region.

It said the analysis of the current meteorological conditions suggest that heat wave conditions are also likely to prevail over some parts of Northwest India.

Mainly clear sky and possibility of duststorm have been forecast during the next 24 hours.

In Delhi, the maximum is expected to touch 44 degrees Celsius.
