BSF seize cattle and contrabands along border

Shillong, June 8 (UNI) The BSF has seized 80 cattle, meant to be smuggled out to Bangladesh, from two areas in Meghalaya.

A BSF statement released here today said, ''The BSF has seized 73 oxens at Dhlobari village along Meghalaya-Asom border and seven buffaloes near the Indo-Bangla border in Jaintia Hills district.'' The BSF had also apprehended ten suspected smugglers.

BSF sources said the seized cattle would be worth Rs 16.70 lakhs.

In another incident, the force seized 36 kgs of contraband worth Rs 2.16 lakh along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
