5-day Bowlers camp held in Mysore ends

Mysore, Jun 8 (UNI) The five-day exclusive Bowlers Camp for Indian Cricketers concluded at the Infosys Global Training Centre Campus on the outskirts of the city today.

Addressing the media persons, Physical Trainer Gregory Alan King said the main objective of the camp was to condition and bring bowlers to peak fitness in view of the busy schedule in the coming months.

India would tour Ireland and England would beb egginning later this month.

Expressing his happyness over the camp, he said each one of the players could be given personal attention and it had helped in honing their fitness and the traning was of great help to them.

The traning which began from pre-breakfast and lasted till the dinner time was held both on the field and outside. He termed the Infosys campus here was an amazing one and facilities had been one of world standard.

Refarring to Irfan Pathan's performance, King said he had come good in the camp and continued to improve. On Munaf Patel fitness, he said he had taken active part in the camp and was fit enough and was improving day by day. Munaf was injured during the Bangladesh tour.

He said there were interactions between each player with bowling coach Venkatesh prasad. Interestingly there were interactive sessions with the Infosys top officials on the leadership qualities.

Mr King said Mysore was selected for the camp as bangalore hosted afro asia mataches during the week, besides the BCCI meetings.

The Infosys campus houses a state of the art gymanasium, swimming polls, aerobics, yoga and meditation centres besides fullfledged courts for badminton, volleyball, basketball tennis, table tennis courts. It also had a turf cricket ground of international standard and a multiplex.

The physio said that the camps has conducted to prepare the bowlers for both the version of the game whether they play one days or tests.

New technologies were used during the camp and it was held as per the guidelines provided by the BCCI.
