Rajkot, June 7 (UNI) Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said his government is committed to fulfil the Kalpsar Yojana, which will provide significant contribution in the prosperity of Gujarat.

Addressing a large gathering at Gondal, about 40 km from here this afternoon, after inaugurating the newly constructed ''Auction Hall'' of Gondal Marketing Yard and Movaiya water supply scheme, Mr Modi alleged after independence, Congress did nothing concrete for water scheme, but began drawing water from the earth when the people of Saurashtra were facing acute water shortage.

Mr Modi said his government has constructed nearly one lakh check dams for water conservations in Saurashtra and Gujarat.

He said under NDA rule, the godowns were filled with foodgrains, but the situation had reversed in last three years under UPA regime.

Movaiya water supply scheme, inaugurated by the Chief Minister, would cover 38 villages. 20 lakh litres capacity of water tank was construted at the site to distribute the water through filter plant to said villages. The water scheme cost Rs 17.12 crore.
