Bachchan land allotment controversy; DM removed

Lucknow, June 7: State government removed Kushinagar District Magistrate Ramashankar Sahu for his alleged involvement in the Amitabh Bachchan land allotment controversy during his tenure as the DM of Barabanki.

According to official sources, Sahu was removed late this evening and was put in the waiting list. The order came after Faizabad Commissioner had, in his report, sought permission from the government to registered a case against the officials involved in fudging land revenue records to establish Bachchan's credentials as a farmer.
