Amitabh Bachchan moves HC in land allotment case

Lucknow, June 5: Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan today challenged the order of Faizabad Additional Commissioner declaring as illegal, farming land allotted to him at Daulatpur village in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.

Mr Bachchan filed the petition through his counsel in the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court.

Citing violation of rules in the revenue record entry, Faizabad Division Additional Commissioner Vidyasdagar Prasad had quashed the order of former Barabanki District Magistrate Ramashankar Sahu alloting farming land to 'Big B'.

The actor's petition claimed that the Additional Commissioner's order had transgressed his jurisdiction and his client was not given an opportunity to be heard.

The next hearing in the case is expected on June 7.
