Two day workshop on development of long cotton

Hubli, June 6 (UNI) About 300 delegates will participate in a two-day state level workshop on 'development of extra long staple variety cotton in Karnataka', which would be held from June 15.

Addressing a press conference here today, Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries Hubli Chairman Shankaranna Munavalli said delegates from all over Karnataka including textile industrialists, scientists and farmers were expected to take part in the workshop.

It would urge the Karnataka government to encourage cotton growing in the state on the lines of Gujarat government, which provided health cards to farmers, subsidy for water management by adopting drip irrigation system in cotton growing, he added.
