Tripathy withdraws petition

Dehradun, June 6 (UNI) Amarmani Tripathy, the main accused in the poetess Madhumita Shukla murder case today withdrew his petition seeking permission to attend the oath taking ceremony of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.

Tripathy's advocate, Surat Singh Negi said that a fresh writ petition in this regard would be filed again in the Uttarakhand High Court in the coming days.

Tripathy, presently lodged in Dehradun Jail, recently won the UP assembly elections from Laxmipur constituency of Mahargunj district.

Tripathy was earlier allowed to go for filing his nominations for the UP assembly elections by the Supreme Court.
