Bhopal, June 6 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Ajay Vishnoi today said health officials had been directed to deal firmly with quacks besides effectively implementing the Nursing Home Act.

Mr Vishnoi, while addressing two-day meting of Chief Medical Officers and health officials, said quacks played with the health of people. Strict action must be taken against them.

''Under the new drug policy, shortage of medicines would not occur in districts. Availability of 40-50 life-saving medicines would be ensured in all districts,'' he said.

The government had made a provision for procuring medicines and equipment costing Rs 200 crore this year.

He said district-level action plan had been chalked out to deal with diseases such as chikungunya and dengue.

Directions had been issued for spraying medicines for preventing breeding of mosquitoes in June in order to contain vector-borne diseases.

Apart from Deendayal mobile hospitals in 11 tribal blocks in the state, other 52 mobile hospitals would come up. These hospitals would be monitored through GPS system to set up in Bhopal.

He described as inappropriate the issues of misappropriation of budget amount and violation of procurement rules.

The government is going to increase financial power for CMOs and joint directors from Rs 25,000 to Rs two lakh and from Rs one lakh to Rs 10 lakh respectively, he said.

He added that the amount of Janani Suraksha Yojna would be increased from Rs 28 crore to Rs 180 crore next year.
