Sugar prices rise on increased demand
Navi Mumbai, Jun 6 (UNI) Sugar prices rose on increased demand, traders at the Vashi Sugar Merchant's Association said today.
Sugar in small grade hiked by Rs three on lesser stock supply while medium grade fell by Rs five per quintal on thin buying support.
Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades edged up by Rs 10 per quintal each owing to higher advice.
Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,300/1,338, Medium grade: Rs 1,341/1,395, Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,290/1,305, Medium grade: Rs 1,335/1,370.
