M G M Maran appointed Chairman of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank

Chennai, June 6 (UNI) The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed MGM group of companies Director M G M Maran as Chairman of Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited.

Mr Maran (38), who has been the Director of the bank since 2000, has the distinction and honour of being the youngest Chairman of all the banks in the country.

Mr Maran, the second son of M G Muthu, Chairman of MGM group of companies, had wide experience in dealing with banking activities during his tenure as Director of the bank.

He had business interests in India and abroad and the MGM group, in which he was the Director, was engaged in diverse fields of business activities, including hotel, beach resorts, distillery, logistics, amusement parks and trading.

Mr Maran's business acumen in running the above business activities would help him to discharge his duties as Chairman of the Tamilnad Mercantile Bank to the entire satisfaction of the banking sector.
