HP to create National illness Assistance Fund

Shimla, Jun 6 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Cabinet today decided to set up the National Illness Assistance Fund in assistance with the Centre for providing health care to the vulnerable sections of the society, official sources said.

The meeting held under the chairmanship of state Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said both the governments would share the expenditure with the state government and the Centre approving a sum of Rs 200 lakh Rs 100 lakh to begin with.

The sources said the meeting also approved the up-gradation of the Baldwara sub-tehsil in the Sarkaghat Sub-Division to a full fleged tehsil, besides opening of a new sub-tehsil at Darlaghat in Solan district.

The decision to set up a new sub-tehsil would help in better administrative and revenue services in 11 patwar circles of the district, the sources said.

The Cabinet sanctioned nine posts of ministerial staff for the civil judges courts of Una, Ghumarwin and Shimla to strengthen the judicial infrastructure in these areas.

The sources said it also sanctioned the creation of 11 posts of superintendent Grade I and 73 posts of superintendent Grade II in the Public Works Department and upgraded two posts of personal assistants to that of private secretaries in Himachal Pradesh Secretariat.

Besides, it also announced the taking over the services of five non-teaching posts in the Maharaja Sansar Chand Memorial Degree College at Thural, fulfilling the eligibility criteria for such posts, the sources added.
