Horticulture University to be opened in August
Bangalore, June 6 (UNI) Karnataka Horticulture Minister Shashikant Naik today said that the new Horticulture University at Bagalkot will begin functioning from Agust.
Mr Naik told reporters here today that the government has acquired 840 acres for the University, which required at least 2000 acres. The Campus alone needed 500 acres, he added.
The department had also identified some buildings for locating the University at Navanagar area of the town, he said adding that a team of experts headed by him would visit various places in on June 10.
The government has apppointed Special Officer V P Baligar for commissioning of the work of the University which would be built at a cost of Rs 100 crore, he said.
