New Delhi, June 6: Japanese automaker Honda Seil Cars India (HSCI) has launched a new variant of its best-selling premium sedan Honda civic strapped with a 1.8-litre engine priced at Rs 11.5 lakh.

The car is a huge hit in the Indian market especially in Rs 10 lakh-plus segment.

The new trim Honda Civic 1.8V joins the 1.8S, which was the only variant available with either a five-speed manual or automatic gearbox.

The new edition has additional features like leather interiors, fog lamps, turn lamp on outside rear view mirrors.

The new variant has two additional colours mystic violet and carbon bronze pearl.

Announcing the launch of the new range yesterday, HSCI Chief Executive Officer and President Masahiro Takedagawa told reporters,''The new luxury features are a result of customer feedback we received. We value our customer' feedback and constantly try to accommodate the same in our models. Civic's appeal has now been enhanced with additional features in the 1.8V range.'' HSCI sold nearly 20,000 units of the civic in less than one year of its launch in July last year.

Honda, presently, has 30 per cent market share in premium car segment, the CEO added.
