Heavy rain likely in coastal Karnataka

Bangalore, Jun 6 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hrs today.

Rainfall occurred at most places over south interior Karnataka and at many places over coastal Karnataka and north interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall amounts (CM): Tavaregere 11; Holalur 9; Agumbe, Sindhanur 8 each; Hiriyur 7.

Other chief rainfall amounts (CM): Puttur, Kurugodu 6 each; Hanumasagar 5; Halle Mysore, Sravanabelgola, Hosadurga 5 each; Mangalore, Mundargi, Jayapura, Parasurampura, Sira 4 each; Panambur, Mani, Manvi, Anavatti, Kudligi, Hassan 3 each.

Maximum temperatures changed little over interior Karnataka.

They were above normal at most places being appreciably so at many places over south interior Karnataka and appreciably above normal at many places over north interior Karnataka.

Gulbarga recorded highest maximum temperature of 38.9 degree celsius ove the state.

Forecast valid until Friday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka and at a few places over interior Karnataka.

Farmers weather bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of coastal Karnataka.

Light moderate rain likely to occur at a few places over all the districts of north interior Karnataka and south interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfal worning: Heavy rain may occur at isolated places over coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Partly cloudy, Rain/thundershowers likely towards evening/night. Maximum temperature would be around 31 degree celsius.
