Fire in Cooking oil unit

Puducherry, Jun 6 (UNI) Property worth several lakhs of rupees were gutted in a fire which broke out in a cooking oil manufacturing unit near here today.

Fire tenders from Puducherry, Thirubhuvanai, D.Nagar, Madugarai, Villianur and Thirukkanur doused the fire, which was noticed in the early hours.

An electrical short circuit was said to be the cause of the fire.

The exact loss is yet to be assertained.
