Copper heavy rises

Mumbai, Jun 6 (UNI) Copper heavy edged up today on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy edged up by Rs 100 per quintal.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bar slashed by Rs 100 per quintal owing to sluggish industrial demand.

Tin slab and nickel cathode drifted lower by Rs 10 and Rs 20 per kg respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,600, Copper utensils - Rs 31,500, Brass utensils - Rs 25,700, Brass cuttings - Rs 27,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,800.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 38,900, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,000, Zinc slabs - Rs 19,200, Lead ingots - Rs 10,200, Tin slab - Rs 710 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,220 (per kg).
