Two hardcore militants nabbed

Imphal, June 5(UNI) The 19 Assam Rifles has apprehended two hardcore cadres of Kuki Liberation Army on Sunday, the spokesman of the Assam Rifles today said.

The two cadres were nabbed with 7 IEDs from Ukhrul areas. They were identified as Namsang and Self Style Sgt Maj Alex Khoute (26).

The recovery of the IED avoided a major tragedy as it could have killed large numbers of people, it was added. One 9 mm pistol with a magazine and two live rounds, 5 rounds of AK 47, one detonator, one grenade, one 2 inch mortar ammunition and RPG ammunition and two extortion notes were also recovered from the possession of the duo.
