Sugar prices ease on thin buying support

Navi Mumbai, Jun 5 (UNI) Sugar prices eased owing to thin buying support, traders at the Vashi Sugar Merchant's Association said today.

Sugar in small grade remained steady on moderate demand while medium grade fell by Rs six per quintal on sustained heavy selling pressure.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades drifted lower by Rs five each per quintal on increased offers by stockists.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,300/1,335, Medium grade: Rs 1,344/1,400, Ex-mill small grade Rs 1,270/1,295, Medium grade: Rs 1,325/1,360.
