Sharp launches full HD monitors
Bangalore, Jun 5 (UNI) Market leader in display monitors, Sharp Business Systems (India) today launched a full high definition LCD information display and aims to capture a sizeable business of the growing monitor business in India, estimated to touch Rs 1,000 crore by 2010.
Sharp Business Systems (India) Managing Director T Mori told newspersons here that the company planned to infuse a sizeable amount to aggressively grow in India.
The company had built a strong base and aimed to encash on it by further expansion. However, he would not indicate the investment amount and future plans. The current Indian market for LCD monitors of over 40 inch was Rs 400 crore.
The new Sharp plant at Kameyama in Japan would roll out the full HD LCD monitors with eighth generation mother glasses. There was no factory in the world that could rival the Kameyama plant, both in quality and scale, he claimed.
Sharp business systems and consumer electronics division put together have a sales of Rs 350 crore currently and this was expected to multiply considerably with the ambitious expansion plans, Company Chief Executive S K Sinha said.
