State Bank of India officers' strike on June 8
New Delhi, June 5: Officers of the State Bank of India (SBI) will go on a day-long strike on June 8 to press their demands regarding their service conditions.
The strike, called by the All India State Bank Officers' Federation, will paralyse operations in branches and offices throughout the country.
A demonstration will also be held on the same day outside the SBI headquarters here.
Federation Vice President T N Goel alleged the Bank management is resorting to unilateral action on issues concerning service conditions of officers.
''The understanding reached on some of the issues in 2005 is yet to be implemented... the officers are not left with any other alternative but to proceed on strike. We regret the inconvenience caused to people,'' he added.
