Record investment by HUDA during 2006-07

Chandigarh, Jun 5 (UNI) The Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) has made a record investment of over Rs 429 crore during the financial year 2006-07 so as to provide improved amenities to the people in the state.

This was revealed in a meeting of HUDA officials presided over by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, an official spokesman said today.

Cost estimates for a number of developmental projects involving an investment of Rs 2324 crore were also approved in the 25th meeting of the Sub-Committee of HUDA which also met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister so as to further strengthen the infrastructure in the state.

In a significant decision, ex-post facto approval was given to the revised extension policy of HUDA thus raising the maximum permissible period for completing construction of buildings from seven years to 15 years, provided that the building plan has been sanctioned up to June 30, 2007.

The Chief Minister, who reviewed various developmental works undertaken by HUDA during last financial year, appreciated its developmental activities and suggested that HUDA should also undertake development of parks located within the old areas of towns so as to provide facility of excursion and relaxation to the residents.
